Your screen is yours.
Riv only looks, listens or acts when you ask. This page says what that takes, what we keep, and how to have it deleted.
The short version
- Riv looks at your screen only when you ask, or while doing a job you gave it, and the pictures aren't saved on our servers.
- Speech recognition happens on your Mac.
- We keep your account, how many runs you've used, and your crew, so Riv can work.
- We never sell your data, and the AI companies we use don't train on it.
- Delete your account in Riv's settings and everything tied to you goes with it.
Who we are
Riv is an AI assistant for the Mac, made by Vansitha Ratnayake. In this policy "we" means the people behind Riv, and "you" means anyone who uses the Riv app or visits clickriv.com.
What we collect

Your screen, your voice and your words
When you ask Riv something, the app sends what you typed or said, and a picture of your screen if the answer needs one, through our server to the AI model that answers. We pass it along and don't save it, and we don't log what you ask. The AI companies may keep what we send for up to 30 days to check for abuse, then delete it.
When you hold the shortcut and talk, speech recognition happens on your Mac. If you turn on Riv's voice, the words Riv says are sent to ElevenLabs to be spoken.
Riv asks macOS for Screen Recording, Accessibility and Microphone access. It uses them only while you're asking, or while it works on a job you gave it.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We only send it to the services Riv needs in order to work:
- Anthropic and OpenAI run the AI models that answer you and do your jobs. Under their terms for businesses, they don't train their models on what we send, and they keep it for a limited time only, to check for abuse.
- Railway hosts our server and database.
- Composio connects Riv to the services you choose, like Notion or Gmail.
- ElevenLabs speaks Riv's replies if you turn his voice on.
- Google or Apple signs you in, whichever you choose.
- Polar handles payments as our merchant of record. Your card details go to Polar and its payment processor. We never see them.
- Vercel hosts clickriv.com and counts visits.
- Notion is where notes sent from the site are kept.
We'd also share data if the law requires it, and only as much as it requires.
How long we keep it
- Your account, crew and what Riv has learned stay until you delete them or ask us to delete your account.
- When you delete your account, everything tied to it is deleted within 30 days.
- The scrambled id of each Mac you signed in on stays after that, with nothing tied to you, so the free plan can't be claimed again on the same Mac.
- Polar keeps its own payment records for as long as tax law requires.
- Notes sent from the site are kept until they're no longer needed.
Your choices
You can delete any crew member in the app, and your whole account, with everything tied to it, in Riv's settings. For anything else, write to [email protected] and we'll:
- send you a copy of what we have about you,
- correct anything that's wrong,
- delete your data if you can't get into the app.
We'll answer within 30 days. You can also turn off Riv's access at any time in System Settings, under Privacy & Security.
Children
Riv isn't made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has signed up, write to us and we'll delete the account.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects what we collect or who we share it with, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
